Workday in "Haukeli hytter og hus" (Norway)

This summer for me is the most impressive. I have got a change to visit Norway - the global happiness rankings country in the world. During the trip I visited my friend in Haukeli. Haukeli is a place west in Vinjė municipality in Telemark county in Norway.

I was interested in my friend's job, so I got a change to spend one day in Haukeli hyyter og hus company.

This company is Apeland family company. They are showing a story of passion for Norwegian crafts traditions.

The family business was established in the 70's by Einar Apeland. Today there is Knut Tore ( Einar son) who is the general manager and the owner of company. The company specializes in woodwork, building the houses and cabins. They made house inside the factory and then they marked timbers and packing.

We met near the main building of company. I got helmet and company‘s sweater. My friend introduced me with safety rules because it is dangerous job with wood electrical tools.

I learned how to use the crane and I tried to lift timbers.

I learned how to mill (norsk. fresing) and sand block.

After using all tools need to be put in a boxes and then in a right place.

The most important and the most exciting thing at work is BREAK TIME!

All the rest of the day we were packing timbers and blocks.

That was so good experience!

Thanks for Knut Tore and Elen Apelands that they let me to spend one day in the factory. I also want to say thank you for my friend Goda that she showed me everything around and taught me how to work and use the tools! :)
