September 4th, 2018 - Laura´s first pilot!

Laura, Carlos Gussoni, and I have just returned from Intervales and managed to get a few good mixed-species flock recordings. Very excited to find out what patterns are hidden inside. Stay tuned for more!

And a bonus! Marina and Thomas came along! First time he visited a forest reserve! Big events!

March 19 - 23, 2018- I Neotropical mixed-species flocks workshop

Lia Kajiki and I organized a workshop on Neotropical mixed-species flocks! We had visitors from Argentina, Blumenau, São Carlos and Brasília! Lots of great discussions, and a field outing at the Floresta Estadual Edmundo Navarro de Andrade. We have plans for another one in 2020.

Ornitolanche meetings 2018

Ornitolanche is an informal setting where anyone involved in ornithological research can talk about their work. Its format is based on the Bird Lunch (now Vert Lunch) meetings conducted at the LSU Natural History Museum. Ana Cristina Crestani is currently organizing the meetings. 5-7 December, 2016: Mini-course on Introduction to Ecological Networks

Carine Emer, Renata Muylaert, Mathias Pires and I just finished a three-day mini-course on ecological networks.

We covered the introductory aspects and worked a few practical classes. The turnout was great and we had 25 students from São Paulo, Paraná, Minas, Bahia and Amazonas.
