Limousine buses to Tokyo Station depart Narita Airport every 15 to 20 minutes. The one-way journey takes about 100 minutes and costs ¥3,200 (at times, discount tickets for foreign tourists can be bought for ¥1,900). The most comfortable way of travel between Narita Airport and Tokyo Station is the JR Narita Express (NEX). The one way journey takes roughly one hour, costs around ¥3,000 and is fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass, JR East Pass and JR Kanto Area Pass. There are departures every 30 to 60 minutes. The NEX Tokyo Round Trip Ticket for ¥4,070 provides foreign travelers with a discounted round trip from the airport into Tokyo and back within a 2-week period. The Narita Express is a fast and comfortable airport train into central Tokyo (serving Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro Stations)
Direct, 41 minutes, from ¥2,520
The Skyliner is a high speed train that operates between Narita Airport and Ueno. It also provides non-stop service to Nippori Station(Take the Keisei Skyliner from Narita Airport to Nippori Station (about 40 minutes, 2520 yen) and transfer to the JR Yamanote Line or JR Keihin-Tohoku Line to get to Tokyo Station (10 minutes, 160 yen)). The Skyliner offeres three services each hour. Passengers can travel with comfort and without the hassle or stress of traffic going into Tokyo. Multiple bus services offer connections between Haneda Airport to various places in central Tokyo. They also provide direct connections to major hotels.
13 minutes to Hamamatsuchou Station, from ¥500
The Tokyo Monorail runs services (every 3 to 4 minutes) that operate between the Haneda Airport International Terminal to Hamamatsucho Station. The Hamamatsucho station is located on the Yamamoto Line Loop, connecting all major stations in Tokyo. It is recommended for guests to take the express train (highlighted in red). About ¥20,000, 60-90 minutes to central Tokyo
Because Narita Airport is located about 60 km outside of Tokyo, a taxi ride into central Tokyo is very expensive and not recommended.
To/From Haneda
A taxi ride into central Tokyo typically costs between ¥5,000 and ¥11,000 depending on the destination and time of the day (there is a surcharge during late night; typically 20% between 10pm and 5am).
It would be a good idea to purchase a prepaid rechargeable card that can be used for trains, buses and even convenience stores around the Tokyo Metro Area. It will save you time purchasing the ticket or the hassle of losing the train tickets because you will need it to exit the train station. For more information click here
