1. Introduction
Kanji Ink is a kanji learning app developed by UciCro.
The app helps users learn kanji through meanings, stroke order practice, and native Japanese audio. Kanji Ink is designed to make kanji learning simple, visual, and enjoyable.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Kanji Ink collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
2. Information We Collect
Kanji Ink does not ask for or collect personal information such as your name, email address, precise location, contacts, photos, or files.
Your learning progress and app settings are stored locally on your device.
The app uses Firebase Analytics to collect limited usage information, as described in Section 3.
3. Analytics
Kanji Ink uses Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand, in aggregate, how people use the app's features — for example, when a study card is first viewed, when audio is played, when a quiz or stroke-order practice is started or completed, and when a purchase is completed.
These events include only non-identifying details such as kanji category, quiz score, or product ID — never your name, email, or other personal information. Firebase Analytics uses an app instance identifier and may use device and advertising identifiers as part of how Google processes this data.
Google may derive an approximate location (such as country or region) from your IP address. The app does not use your device's location services.
We use this information only to improve the app and to measure the effectiveness of our own promotion. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

4. Advertising
Kanji Ink does not display advertisements and does not include any advertising network.
5. Purchases and Free Content
Kanji Ink is free to download. Part of the content is available for free, and the full version can be unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase. The price is shown in the app store before purchase.
Purchases are processed by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS) according to their own policies and terms. Kanji Ink and UciCro do not receive or store your payment card information.
6. Native Audio
Kanji Ink includes native Japanese audio to help users hear kanji pronunciation clearly.
The audio is provided as part of the app's learning content. The app does not record your voice and does not access the microphone.
7. Children's Privacy
Kanji Ink does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not ask for personal information from any user.
8. Third-Party Services
Kanji Ink uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Analytics (Google), as described in Section 3
- Google Play and the App Store, to process purchases
No other third-party analytics or advertising services are integrated.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your information with third parties, except for the processing by the services listed in Section 8.
10. Data Retention and Security
Learning progress stored on your device remains there until you delete the app or its data.
Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period according to the data retention settings of Firebase Analytics, and is then deleted automatically.
11. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under data protection law, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and to object to its processing. Because the analytics data we receive is not linked to your identity, we may not be able to identify data that belongs to you. You can contact us at any time with questions or requests.
You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If changes are made, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
