Ankita Jain
My name is Ankita Jain. I am currently 16 years old, studying in IB programme at Merivale High School. As an avid chess enthusiast, my passion for the game drives me to share my knowledge and insights through blogs. My primary mission is to champion chess for young girls, aspiring to encourage greater participation and recognition of the game's value in schools and universities.
With a successful tenure of over 2 years, the Kanata Chess Academy has nurtured and mentored over 75 children, some of whom have excelled in competitive play. While proud of these achievements, my primary mission is to break the gender barrier in this traditionally male-dominated game. Recognizing the lack of youth chess centers in Ottawa compared to surrounding areas, my goal is to attract and cultivate a diverse group of young players. Through nurturing and organizing chess competitions, I aim to create a thriving chess community that embraces players of all backgrounds and genders in the Ottawa region
