Kanak-Ganga Charitable Hospital is being built in a rural village in Jambady, Purulia for providing maternity services for women, and care for young girls. Work for the facility is being done under the leadership of Shree Arindam Banerjee, of the Purbachal Ananda Foundation (PAF) The hospital is named after the parents of Dr. Arun Banerjee, a dual citizen of the USA and India, who gave an initial donation of Rupees 1 Crore and was deposited in PAF's bank around the end of 2022.
However, expenses for building the hospital are so great that they cannot be borne with the donation of only one person. It is hoped that other donors will come by to support the hospital, and they will be duly honored with their names inscribed on the rooms of the facility.

The hospital is about 125 km from Durgapur, 65 km from Purulia and 90 km from Bankura.

Kanak Ganga Charitable Hospital will work for about 2.5 lakh mothers and daughters of Manbazar block.

Feb 14, 2023 >> Application submitted to the district with panchayat permission for land conversion.
Feb 28, 2023 >> Electricity connection was established.
Apr 26, 2023 >> Hospital land conversion took place.
May 08, 2023 >> Hospital land was leveled, and two submersible pumps were installed.
May 23, 2023 >> Laying of foundation stone ceremony and starting the construction work.
September 1, 2023 >> All 4 walls of the main building are all done.
