Hello, I am Kampui Tsang. Welcome to my academic site!

I am a third-year Ph.D. student in Economics at KU Leuven and UCLouvain. I work under the joint-supervision of Professor Johannes Van Biesebroeck (KU Leuven) and Professor Jean-Francois Maystadt (UCLouvain). 

I will be entering the job market in the fall of 2025. 

My research interests lie in political economy, development economics, and the Chinese economy. In my current work, I employ empirical methodologies and novel datasets to evaluate the effectiveness of international sanctions and the impact of Chinese FDI in critical mineral extraction in sub-Saharan Africa.
