Let's take a stroll down memory lane of all of the celebrations that we have been fortunate to have throughout this past decade.
On Saturday, February 8, 2014, Kamila Rose Saradpon was born at 9:40 am PST at Mary Birch Hospital in San Diego, CA to Maria and Kris Saradpon.
Some fun facts: Kamila's parents waited until she was born to find out if they were going to have a baby boy or baby girl.
Mommy Maria also was a warrior queen and labored at home from 1:00 am until 9:00 am. Upon arriving at the hospital, her water broke as she sat down in a wheelchair as she checked into triage. Already at 10 cm dilation, Kamila arrived after 2 big pushes. Kamila arrived so fast that her nurse studying to be a midwife, and not the doctor, delivered her.
She weighed 6 lbs. and 6 oz. Kamila's first day out of the womb she spent peacefully asleep, being loved, swaddled, and held by visiting family. As visiting hours concluded, both Mommy and Daddy were super exhausted, but the fun was just beginning for Kamila. Once visiting hours were closed, Kamila continually cried all through the night.
Papa Kris was also very close to naming their first child Kamila Rose "Isabella" Saradpon so then her initials would be K.R.I.S., or "K.R.I.S., Jr." The proposal was immediately shut down and vetoed by Mama Maria.
Sunday, February 8, 2015 - In honor of Kamila's 1st Birthday, her parents coordinated with the San Diego Blood Bank to host a mobile blood drive in Kamila's honor. That day, 144 pints were collected!
It was a beautiful day surrounded by friends and family. A huge shout out to Sushi on a Roll for hosting us and a big thank you to all of the wonderful performers including the very talented Jessie Lark, Matt Ignacio, and Tribal Theory!
Also, thank you to Ninong Ronnie of Saradpon Photography for the beautiful portraits and photo booth!
February 2016 - Kamila, of the Southern Bay, had a blast at her "cool" Frozen-themed 2nd birthday at Liberty Station. Even Queen Elsa came to hang out and "chill."
There was a fake snow pit and build your own sandwiches along with a pabitin, which is a like a Filipino-style pinata where prizes are attached to a bamboo grid for kids to jump and grab.
This was also where we found out what gender Saradpon Baby #2 was going to be!
Saturday, February 11, 2017 - A huge thank you to Kamila's Ninong and Ninang, Ronnie and Malou for generously opening their home to host Kamila's Elena of Avalor 3rd Birthday Party!
It was the first birthday that lil' sister, Mikayla, a.k.a. "Honeybadger" got to celebrate!
Elena of Avalor even broke away from her kingdom for a bit to wish Princess Kamila a Happy Birthday and sing a few songs.
February 2018 - Here are photos from Kamila's Disney's Descendants-themed 4th Birthday.
She got to celebrate at Build-A-Bear in Otay Ranch Mall, and then had a few friends over for some cake.
The night before, Kamila thought it would be funny to walk around the room with her eyes closed and she tripped and busted her lip on the wall. Thankfully she was okay, but it made for memorable photos.
The purple ombre cake was made by Nichole Jones of The Little Sweets in Life. Make sure to follow on Instagram @thelittlesweetsinlife and support her!
Friday, February 8, 2019 - Kamila was really excited to host a pajama party with an L.O.L. Dolls theme. Mommy Maria did such a wonderful decorating the house with a colorful L.O.L. Dolls theme!
Thank you once again to the talented Nichole Jones of The Little Sweets in Life for designing such a showstopping L.O.L. Themed Cake. Make sure to follow on Instagram @thelittlesweetsinlife and support her!
Saturday, February 8, 2020 - Before the world and life as we knew it changed, we got to celebrate Kamila's 6th Birthday in awesome fashion starting at Sweet Escape in Paradise Hills. Unfortunately, this cute and quaint dessert shop is no longer there, but the owners were so kind and gracious to allow us to celebrate there.
CBS 8 News Reporter Kyle Kraska also surprised Kamila with a visit and present! Read about how Kyla and Kamila became "blood-related":
After the day time shenanigans, Kamila got to continue partying at Chuck E. Cheeses and closed with dinner surrounded by family at Golden Chopsticks.
Monday, February 8, 2021 - Despite the world changing and a new normal setting in, Kamila was still showered with so much love! Thank you to Vero for leading a Zoom dance class and for everyone "showing up" to greet and cheer Kamila during these uncertain times.
Tuesday, February 8, 2022 - Kamila got to celebrate her "Golden Birthday" in which both the celebration year and date align. We had another very intimate dinner with immediate family. Check out the floral arrangement by Our Ladys Roses!
Saturday, February 11, 2023 - Kamila was surprised with a Boho-style picnic for her and her closest friends for her 9th birthday. She wanted to have a picnic lunch inspired by the Anime "Sakura;" a cartoon that her mother, Maria, grew up watching while she lived in the Philippines.
A cool little detail is that some of the cherry blossom decor was from Kamila's 1st birthday party.
