Brand Activation Campaign - Dialog VIU+ I Activation
Journey behind one of my most exciting Brand Activation Campaigns executed for Dialog Axiata PLC – promoting the Dialog Dialog VIU+ app during the AsiaCup Cricket 2025.
The challenge was clear: How do we inspire cricket fans to experience the Asia Cup “anytime, anywhere” through Dialog VIU+? Our answer was to take the idea to the streets and turn it into an engaging social experiment. We passed around a giant branded cricket ball, carrying the Asia Cup 2025 logo, letting people feel the energy and excitement of the tournament, while tying it back to the simple yet powerful message – watch cricket wherever you are, with VIU+. 🏏📲
What makes this project special is not just the execution, but the heart and effort that went into every single detail. From conceptualizing the activation, to designing and creating all promo materials in-house, to ensuring the final delivery carried that “wow” factor – myself and my team Danushka Wijesundara I Dismitha Attygalle & of course ThePapare production a huge shoutout! 👏 worked hands-on from start to finish. It was long hours, countless refinements, and creative brainstorming, but seeing it come alive was worth every bit of effort.
This campaign is proof of what hard work, creativity, and teamwork can achieve when passion drives the process. It was not just an activation – it was about creating an experience, delivering a message, and building a stronger connection between the brand and its audience.

An ERP Solution for Sri Lankan Brands! (Blog)
Hi, I’m Kalana Ranasingha, Founder and Creative Head at REKSER Digital. Over the past five years, I have built REKSER Digital from the ground up. I hold a High Distinction in Business Innovation, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Logistics Management from a world-class university in Melbourne, Australia which is Victoria University. After gaining two years of hands-on experience in leading companies within my field, I decided to take a bold step shifting my focus entirely to REKSER Digital, a company dedicated to marketing solutions.
Many questioned my decision, especially my batchmates. But my goal was clear I didn’t want to be confined to a single industry. Instead, I aimed to establish REKSER Digital while also working as a Business Consultant specializing in Business Marketing and SCM. Today, I am proud to say that I have achieved a significant milestone. REKSER Digital successfully pitched Access Eco Electrics Pvt Ltd at the request of Access Group PLC.
Through extensive market research on ERP solutions, both locally and globally, countless calls, and strategic meetings with my business partner, Kogul Sagar, we identified Odoo as the ideal solution. Odoo is an open-source business management software suite that offers a wide range of applications, including accounting, inventory management, sales, human resources, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Its flexibility, scalability, and user-friendly interface make it suitable for businesses of all sizes. Odoo can be deployed both in the cloud and on-premise, with customization options to meet unique business requirements.
Access Eco Electrics, a newly established subsidiary of Access Group PLC, specializes in selling BYD Forklifts. Until now, their entire business operations relied on manual databases. Our task as Marketing and ERP Consultants was to transition their business into a fully digital database through a strategic partnership project. This approach enabled us to precisely align the solution with their requirements and budget. Additionally, our competitive pricing positions us as a leading provider of Odoo implementation in Sri Lanka, and we aspire to become an official Odoo partner in the near future.
My vision for REKSER Digital extends beyond marketing. It is about integrating subject knowledge and marketing expertise to deliver comprehensive business solutions. However, ERP consultancy is just one of the many services we offer under Business Consultancy one of the four core services provided by REKSER Digital.
Diversification defines my journey. My academic background, REKSER Digital, my current role at Dialog Axiata PLC, and even this blog represents different facets of my professional life. So be different!
I had the opportunity to consult a startup on navigating the financial market, pitching their business idea effectively, and implementing the right strategies for growth. My involvement began during their R&D phase and continued through the introduction stage to the market.
I also continue to provide strategic consulting for Elegant Capital, which is currently in its growth stage. Our collaboration is built on the real, measurable results achieved within the first month of operations — including a turnover of LKR 180,000 and the successful onboarding of 10 clients. These early wins were made possible through effective branding and strategic market positioning.
Beyond strategic guidance, I supported both startups with market research, competitor analysis, and financial forecasting to ensure data-driven decision-making. I assisted in structuring their business models, preparing investor-ready pitch decks, and developing go-to-market strategies tailored to their target audiences. My hands-on involvement in areas such as pricing models, customer segmentation, and digital presence optimization helped lay a strong foundation for sustainable growth and investor confidence.
In addition, I have conducted training sessions for employees, focusing on optimizing various business processes. This has helped ensure maximum cooperation and alignment across teams, ultimately contributing to improved productivity and smoother operations.
Kakulanda Estate – A Destination Marketing Case Study in Kurunegala
Kakulanda Estate stands out as one of the most charming and serene getaway locations in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka. I was honored to be a part of this journey, partnering with the founder, Mr. Ruwan Kakulanda, who quickly became more than just a client he became a long-term collaborator and friend.
At the core of our strategy was repositioning Kakulanda Estate not just as a place to stay, but as an experience-driven, aspirational lifestyle destination. To bring this vision to life, we initiated a powerful digital media campaign in collaboration with Mr. Sangeeth Satharasinghe and Mrs. Dinithi Walgamage, one of Sri Lanka’s most loved and influential couples on social media. This partnership enabled us to leverage authentic storytelling and emotional connection with a highly engaged audience.
We deployed a multi-platform content strategy, producing high-quality visual and video content tailored for YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Each platform was strategically utilized to maximize organic reach and engagement. Within weeks, the campaign reached over 3 million cumulative views, generated 100+ daily inbound leads, and maintained a conversion rate of 60%, which translated into a substantial increase in bookings. We successfully turned a business that previously experienced only seasonal demand into one with consistent and growing customer interest year-round.
The campaign also resulted in a 500% return on production costs, a testament to the power of effective digital storytelling combined with strategic influencer alignment and market positioning.
Currently, I manage the entire digital marketing and branding operations for Kakulanda Estate. This includes overseeing content production, managing social media channels, running paid advertising campaigns, and analyzing insights to inform future marketing decisions. I also provide ongoing consulting to ensure brand consistency and customer satisfaction are maintained at every touchpoint.
But above all, what made this project special was the energy, collaboration, and joy it brought to the team. I believe that successful projects are not only measured by numbers but by the relationships built and the memorable moments shared along the way. Kakulanda Estate was a perfect example of that balance results-driven, but full of heart.
Lake Face Hotel, Anuradhapura – A Journey from Consultation to Transformation
Lake Face Hotel, nestled in the historic heart of Anuradhapura, is more than just another project in my portfolio it’s a story of trust, transformation, and lasting partnership.
The founder, Mr. Duminda, originally came to me as a client seeking guidance, but through the course of our collaboration, a strong professional friendship was built. To me, that’s the essence of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) not just delivering results, but fostering genuine relationships while maintaining professional integrity.
This project began during a personal trip to Anuradhapura when I chose to stay at Lake Face Hotel. During our initial conversation, Mr. Duminda openly shared several critical challenges he was facing:
Frequent double booking errors
Inconsistent marketing efforts
Low occupancy rates during off-peak seasons
A stream of negative customer feedback
Poor management and visibility on Booking.com and other third-party platforms
Recognizing the potential of the property and the passion of its owner, I immediately began analyzing the entire business model. After conducting a complete diagnostic, we identified operational loopholes and underutilized digital opportunities.
To address these issues, we implemented a multi-phase transformation strategy:
Backend Optimization – We restructured and managed the third-party booking platforms (such as Booking.com and Agoda) to ensure seamless availability syncing and eliminate double booking issues.
Social Media Revamp – We launched targeted social media campaigns to reposition Lake Face Hotel as a top choice for both local and international travelers, focusing on storytelling, visuals, and seasonal offers to boost visibility and trust.

The impact was clear: increased direct bookings, improved guest satisfaction, and higher occupancy rates even during traditionally low seasons.
