Field Trips

Various field trips are undertaken during the year. On long weekends and once a year there is an extended trip, anything from a week to several weeks. It is on these trips that we collect the rocks with which we work.

Often, our expeditions take us into historical areas such as The Goldfields and remote outback station areas that were inhabited and worked by our early settlers and prospectors. These trips also provide the opportunity for members to enjoy and appreciate the wonderful flora and fauna of our country and, in season, the wildflowers provide a colourful backdrop to our fossicking outings.

Social outings are also organised throughout the year. Periodically, we will hold a sausage sizzle on a club Saturday.
