Here are some of Arya’s many outstanding accomplishments that impressed the independent selection team.
Karuna (Compassion): Arya led a project to create chemotherapy care packages for patients at Children’s National Hospital. She supported her communities both here in the US with food drives, education of younger children, and environmental clean-ups, and in Maharashtra by providing educational resources for underprivileged children.
Arts: Arya performs Bollywood dances and Lezim and has taken professional dance training. She is fluent enough in Spanish to be nominated to the Virginia Spanish Governor’s School and to communicate for her family on vacation in a Spanish-speaking country.
Leadership: Arya has been a Girl Scout Youth Delegate for the Nation’s Capital, Historian for her local chapter of Positivity for Patients, President of the Spanish Honor Society, and lead social media manager for the Capitol Exotics car rental company. She has been a coach and mentor in basketball for younger girls.
Academics: Arya has taken 13 AP classes, including AP Chemistry and AP Calculus, and she plans to take AP Economics and AP Statistics during her senior year. She conducted research in molecular biology during a Digital Institute Internship at ASSIP. Her goal is to become a successful and impactful business leader and make a positive impact in the world.
