A group assignment was given to write a position paper that would address inclusive education for people with disabilities.
In getting this assignment done, my group mates and I had to come together to get facts as regards what obtains currently as regards education for people with disabilities and the recommended practices for it. In the position paper, we advocated for the implementation of inclusive education for people with mobility disabilities that have no mental affectation.
Another assignment I had in form a group presentation was to present four outcome measures on stroke and to recommend one for use in the Nigerian physiotherapy clinic justifying the reason for the choice.
This was quite a challenging assignment to work on as there are so many outcome measures for stroke. So in doing this assignment, my group members and i decided to focus on two outcomes which are of utmost importance to physiotherapists and we discussed outcome measures based on those outcomes. the outcome measures discussed include:
Out of these four outcome measures, the Stroke impact scale was recommended because:
This assignment was given to me because in addition to my scholarship, i was employed by the University as a graduate assistant. I took a lecture on behalf of one of my lecturers - it was the 500l undergraduate students and i taught them on myelination and demyelination in the Central Nervous System.
This was a very exciting session for me as teaching had always been my dream so it accorded me that opportunity to teach other students formally.
In teaching, one always learns to do things in better ways so if i was to teach them another time, I would do a more in depth study of the subject topic so as to be able to give them more information as well as make the class more engaging by asking them questions and giving the students brain-stimulating tasks.
