Kaiyuan Watermark Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Xiaoyu Li, as the individual developer and operator of Kaiyuan Watermark (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the Kaiyuan Watermark iOS or Android application.
Kaiyuan Watermark is a watermark camera app for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. Its core features include taking photos, recording videos, watermark rendering, optional location overlays, and saving exported media to the device photo library.
2. Summary
Kaiyuan Watermark primarily processes photos, videos, watermark layouts, and export results locally on your device.
The current version does not require you to create an account.
The current version does not provide in-app social feeds, public profiles, or cloud sync services.
Weather text is entered or edited by you on the device. The current version does not send location to third-party weather services.
For China distribution builds, after you agree to this Policy, we may use analytics services such as Umeng to understand app usage and improve the product. These services may collect limited usage, device, and app version information. App Store and Google Play builds currently do not integrate those third-party analytics SDKs.
We do not use those analytics services to collect your photo or video content, custom watermark text, or precise location.
3. Information We Access and Process
3.1 Camera
Kaiyuan Watermark requests camera permission so you can capture photos and videos in the app.
3.2 Microphone
If you record videos with sound, Kaiyuan Watermark requests microphone permission to capture audio while recording.
3.3 Photo Library
Kaiyuan Watermark may request the following photo library permissions:
Read access: when you select images from the system photo library for watermark-related customization
Add or save access: when you export or save generated photos or videos to the system photo library
3.4 Location
If you enable location-related watermark features, Kaiyuan Watermark may access your current location in order to:
Display location information on watermarks
Display coordinates or related location text
After you grant permission, request reverse geocoding from map/address-lookup services so coordinates can be shown as an address (AMap may be used in mainland China; Google Maps or OpenStreetMap may be used elsewhere)
When you use the "Nearby Places" feature to pick a specific shop, unit, or building, request nearby-place information from map services (AMap Nearby Search in mainland China; Google Places or OpenStreetMap's Overpass service elsewhere)
When precise location is unavailable, roughly estimate your location from your device's public IP address
When GPS does not return a usable altitude, send coordinates to elevation services (for example Open-Meteo Elevation or Open-Elevation) so altitude can appear on the watermark. This is not a weather-forecast request, and the current version does not send location to third-party weather services
Location features are optional. If you do not grant location permission, location-based watermark features may not work properly.
3.5 Motion and Orientation
Kaiyuan Watermark may read accelerometer or motion data so watermark preview and export can rotate correctly with the device. This data is processed on-device only and is not used for advertising or profiling.
3.6 Local App Settings and Cached Data
Kaiyuan Watermark stores certain settings and cached data locally on your device, for example:
Selected watermark styles
User-configured watermark options
Language preferences
Recent or cached location-related display data
Nearby address cache
These settings are used only to keep the app working properly and to retain your preferences the next time you launch the app.
3.7 Usage, Diagnostics, and Related Information
For China distribution builds, after you agree to this Policy, Kaiyuan Watermark may use analytics services such as Umeng to collect limited usage-related information, for example:
App launches and basic app lifecycle events
Feature usage and app interaction events
Selected watermark style identifiers and non-sensitive configuration state
Device model, OS version, app version, language, and country or region inferred from network information
We use this information to understand how the app is used, improve the product, and prioritize optimizations.
App Store and Google Play builds currently do not collect usage information for analytics through those third-party analytics SDKs.
We do not use these services to collect your photo or video content, custom watermark text, precise location, address text, or coordinates.
4. How We Use This Information
We use the information we access only for app functionality and improvement purposes, including:
Taking photos and videos
Rendering watermarks on media
Saving generated media to your device
Loading user-selected images for watermark customization
Displaying optional location text and coordinates; weather text is entered by you on the device
Remembering your settings and improving current and future experiences
Analyzing aggregated app usage and feature performance
5. Local Processing
Kaiyuan Watermark’s core capture and watermark workflow is designed to run on your device as much as possible. In the current version:
Captured photos and videos are watermarked locally
Locally saved settings remain on your device unless you delete the app or clear related device data
For China distribution builds, after you agree, analytics services such as Umeng may process limited usage-related information on their servers for analytics purposes
6. Third-Party Services and Network Requests
In limited scenarios, Kaiyuan Watermark may use third-party or platform services.
6.1 Maps, Address Lookup, and Nearby Places
If you enable location-related watermark features and grant location permission, the app may send coordinates to third-party map services to obtain address text for the watermark, or to look up nearby shops, units, or buildings when you use the "Nearby Places" feature.
This means:
In mainland China and similar regions, AMap's address-lookup and nearby-place search services may be used
In other regions, Google Maps / Google Places or OpenStreetMap (including Nominatim for address lookup and Overpass for nearby-place queries) may be used
When precise location is unavailable, your device's public IP address may be sent to an IP geolocation service to estimate your approximate location
When GPS does not return a usable altitude, coordinates may be sent to elevation services (for example Open-Meteo Elevation or Open-Elevation) to estimate terrain altitude. This is not a weather-forecast request
Weather text is entered on the device; the current version does not send location to third-party weather services
6.2 Umeng and Similar Analytics Services
For China distribution builds, after you agree to this Policy, Kaiyuan Watermark may use analytics services such as Umeng.
These services help us understand app usage and feature interaction trends.
These services may process app instance identifiers, device and OS information, app version, language, approximate region information, app interaction events, and similar data.
App Store and Google Play builds currently do not integrate those third-party analytics SDKs.

6.3 iOS, Android, and Platform Services
Kaiyuan Watermark relies on iOS / iPadOS or Android system frameworks, as well as the App Store, Google Play, and similar platform services, for permission requests, camera access, photo library saving, location access, motion and orientation, and other operating-system-related features.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
In the current version, we do not operate an in-app user account backend or an advertising network. However:
When you use location watermarks, coordinates may be sent to third-party map services for address lookup, and when needed to elevation services to estimate altitude
For China distribution builds, after you agree, usage-related information may be processed by analytics providers such as Umeng
When you download, install, or run the app through the App Store, Google Play, or other platforms, those platforms may process limited technical data under their own policies
8. Data Retention
Because Kaiyuan Watermark primarily stores settings locally:
App preferences remain on your device until you change settings, delete the app, or clear related device data
Exported photos and videos saved to the system photo library remain there until you delete them
Some temporary or cached data may be replaced or cleared during normal app operation
Third-party analytics data is retained according to the retention rules of the relevant service providers and used for analytics
9. Children’s Privacy
Kaiyuan Watermark is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an account system or dedicated children’s services.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us.
10. Your Choices
You may:
Deny camera, microphone, photo library, location, or motion and orientation permissions
Turn off location-related watermark features
Revoke previously granted permissions in iOS or Android system settings
Delete exported media from the system photo library
Delete this app to stop further local storage
Please note that if you deny or revoke necessary permissions, some features may not work properly.
After you delete this app, it will stop further local storage on that device, as well as further analytics processing where applicable.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to keep core media processing on-device whenever possible. However, no software, device, storage system, or network transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in product features, legal requirements, or operations. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
