Printouts of the ward maps of the City of Oak Forest.  Also broken down by each individual ward.

Design features:

• Thick polygons offset to show entire borders for every ward.
• Faint shadow outside border to distinguish inner vs. outer.
• Border of individual ward maps reflect color of ward boundary.

An interactive map designed to help communities locate properties eligible for a local tax abatement program passed in late 2022.  The properties are labeled eligible or not based on three main criteria.

Methodology:

• Pool Cook County open-source datasets for parcel inventory, taxpayer information, and property classification
• Gather zoning data from all SSMMA member communities
• Use ArcGIS Pro to join multiple datasets with columns configured to help quality check, update, and maintain the entire dataset

The landing page for SSMMA's regional COVID-19 data visualized the trends of COVID-19 cases, testing, and vaccination across the region.  During the height of the pandemic, data were updated daily.

Coding languages used:

• Python to automate data download, processing, and updates [view sample]
• HTML to customize website design and layout
• ESRI's Java-inspired Arcade language optimize visualization of data within the ArcGIS platform

The Illinois State Police observed a spike in incidents involving a collision with a marked police vehicle during a traffic stop, while the vehicles emergency lights were engaged.  A violation of Scott's Law, the collisions sparked a statewide effort to increase awareness by publicizing the incidents as the occurred.  While the data were updated through 2021, the general structure and layout of the story map remained generally the same.

The landing page for the Illinois State Police's department of operations included an interactive dashboard that summarized the year-to-date fatal crash statistics across the state.  Preliminary data are updated daily using python.

District 9 encompasses seven counties, and a map was created for each county depicting all crashes that occurred in 2018.  A summary map was also created showing all crashes for the entire enforcement district.
