My career began in Cambodia, where I worked on health and development programs as a data analyst and research coordinator. I contributed to projects funded by donor agencies and NGOs, supporting evidence-based decision-making through field research, database design, and impact evaluations. Being part of initiatives that directly improved community wellbeing sparked a lasting passion for using data to drive meaningful change.
This passion led me to Melbourne to pursue a Master’s in Social Policy, where I joined the Nossal Institute for Global Health as an executive intern. There, I collaborated on a UNICEF-supported project focused on children with disabilities in Cambodia. I conducted literature reviews, mapped service gaps, and analyzed policy frameworks—culminating in an analytical paper that informed inclusive development strategies. The experience deepened my commitment to combining research, policy, and data to support social impact.

🚀 Career and Interest in New Zealand
Since relocating to New Zealand and becoming a citizen, I’ve actively sought opportunities to give back to the community while applying my skills in data and technology. Through both volunteering and professional experiences, I’ve deepened my passion for using data to generate meaningful insights across diverse sectors.
From managing a retail business and streamlining operations to addressing legal data challenges and completing formal training in business intelligence, each step has strengthened my technical capabilities and strategic thinking. Today, I apply this expertise in the nonprofit sector—enhancing my data analytics practice with industry-standard tools such as Power BI, Excel, DAX, API integration, SQL, and CRM systems to transform complex data into actionable insights. I am also proficient in cloud-based data analytics, using platforms such as Google BigQuery and Looker Studio to support scalable, data-driven decision-making.Â
My work is guided by a strong focus on impact, clarity, and the belief that well-utilized data drives better, more informed decisions.
My transition into the data field has been driven by a strong commitment to continuous learning. I completed a Level 7 Certificate in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics in New Zealand, where I gained hands-on experience with industry-relevant tools and techniques.
I also actively explore how digital technologies and AI can be used ethically to empower workplaces, businesses, and organizations. For me, learning is a lifelong journey—one that fosters adaptability, fuels creative problem-solving, and enhances my ability to deliver insights that make a meaningful impact.
