Folding Table

A round table for a couple. The request was for a stable three-legged table, foldable if possible. The diameter is 900 mm, the height is 350 mm, and the material is solid cedar board. A folding mechanism was devised to form a triangular structure with excellent strength, and locking when in use is as simple as tightening a wing nut.

The natural curves like those of a deer are used for the legs, and all the bolts except for the moving parts are hidden by wood filler, thus eliminating the mechanical impression that is often associated with folding mechanisms.
