Career Summary & Goals

COnstruction Worker

My career goal is to become a construction worker. Construction worker is someone who is employed as part of a construction crew and will perform many tasks that often involve physical labor on construction sites. This includes tearing down buildings, removing hazardous materials, building highways and roads, digging tunnels and mine shafts, laying concrete or asphalt, taking apart or constructing scaffolding, bracing and other temporary structures, operating equipment and heavy machinery, and loading and unloading building materials. For construction workers, preparation for the project in making sure all safety/health regulations are met is mandatory and essential. Because construction sites are high risk working environments. Employees are expected to work at great heights with heavy machinery and potentially dangerous building materials. It’s crucial that health and safety regulations are closely followed to reduce the chance of injury and protect the lives of workers. The idea of working to making different projects come to life and allowing me to build them seems inspiring and could allow me to build my own house one day. My plan after High School is to attend the Everglades University to earn an undergraduate degree in Construction Management. After completing 4 years of undergraduate coursework, I plan to work with successful companies to see how things are managed and get experience working in the industry and then pursue to make my own construction company for my community.
