‘Dog Training’ is a ubiquitous term that can mean just about anything to anyone.

The most widely recognized and formalized basic dog training achievement is the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen certification AKC-CGC. Petco locations may offer this certification. However, nobody does it for you. Your dog’s success will be the product of you successfully training your dog. The AKC puts forth the program and there's guidance to help adopt and utilize the methods.

There are the amorphous categories of corporations and individuals who offer training of various descriptions and levels of certification. PetsMart has a decent training outline and is the preferred partner of choice for the primary rescue affiliate sccrescue.org.

The ProPetsAssociation members are certified hosts & caretakers in the local rescue community who follow strict protocols for care, development & wellness. The basics here cover everything needed to successfully adopt rescued pups to permanent homes. The ‘Better Behavior Through Socialization’ wellness therapy and behavior modification program utilizes canine-to-canine schooling.
