OUR HISTORY

ORIGINAL CHARTER OF COUNCIL 6548 MARCH 26, 1974

The charter for the Knights of Columbus Council 6548 was established on March 26, 1974.  There were 67 Knights on this charter.  They took their first degree of knighthood in the basement of the rectory of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Prudenville, Mi.  The founding pastor Fr. Joseph Reitz, Vernon (Bernie) Anderson, and Bernie Streff were instrumental in getting this group of men from the parish to form this new council.  Please see the page "PAST GRAND KNIGHTS".   Our first Grand Knight was Vernon Bernard Anderson, Jr who went on years later to be the Grand Knight again.   There is now a page of deceased knights and past grand knights on this website.  AG
