Brief Biographical Statement
I create physical paintings and subsequently transpose their poetics into other realms. I approach a work as if it were a form of cultivation of an adaptive living system and a place of inhabitation held open as much for its eventual audience as for me in its production. I wish to give shape to a sensation of mutual dwelling, of being in the contiguity and continuity of nature.
In 2019, I extended my practice by completing (with distinction) an MA in Fine Art Digital at UAL, receiving the Alumni Award, and a jury selected my work for the Camberwell Space Gallery. I studied painting in Florence, first gaining a BSc (Hons) in Botany at Manchester University, followed by a PGCE.
Earlier one-person shows in public galleries include Leicester Museum and Art Gallery New Walk, Cooper Gallery, Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery, and The British Institute of Florence. I am a fellow of the Linnean Society of London, the world's oldest extant natural history society.
My practice is studio-based in the UK.
