Being a licensed child care means I meet state standards. The purpose of licensing is to promote the health, safety, and welfare of children. As a part of the Department of Children and Families, child care licensing specialists are employed to ensure that licensing requirements are met through surprise inspections of child care facilities. Any violations (or things I need to get better at) are listed on Wisconsin's child care finder through the Youngstar for parents website.
Through my degrees, I learned how to handle the guidance of children, lesson planning, and how to plan for the needs of individual children and how children develop.

The Registry also tracks continuing education that I engage in throughout the year.
The CACFP (food program) provides meals for children in Day Care Centers, Family Child Care homes, Head Start Programs, After School Programs and adults care for in Adult Day Care facilities. Through reimbursement of meals I am able to provide balanced and diverse meals. There are quarterly visits from this agency that ensure I am meeting required meal patterns, maintaining sanitary food preparation and consumption areas.

JPCC as a family child care earned a 5-star-rating. This means that my program met elevated levels of quality standards. To reach this rating, two early childhood professionals from different organizations observed my program.
It is the goal of Just Playing Child Care as a group center to work towards earning the same high-quality rating. Through dedicated staff, continuing education, investing in quality toys and materials, and supporting teachers we as a program can strive to provide the best program for children and families.
