The TLI experience and Capstone project have impacted my growth in multiple ways. The best part of this experience was that the project supported me work as a new instructional coach. I took my leadership abilities and applied them to a completely new area of leadership within the district. I was able to support educators in their growth and the work was meaningful. The TLI experience helped me identify ways to be more targeted and focused with my work while supporting me in a new role.
I have the unique opportunity to pave the way for other (potential) instructional coaches in my district. The TLI process has helped me set the bar high and pursue excellence in these areas as an instructional coach and leader.
Make instructional coaching a leadership position that fights for diverse and equal treatment.
In continuing my work and growth as a teacher leader, instructional leader and instructional coach, I will keep involving educators in embedded reflective practices in coach cycles, questioning, professional development, and meetings. I would like to transition the educators that have already been in formal coaching into team-type coaching, eventually moving to the Video Leadership Teams.
This coming school year will be focused on continual development of relationships, engaging educators in reflective practices, continuing to integrate technology in the professional developments I offer and during model lessons, and I will continue to self-educate and engage in reflective practices with educators as a model and a way to improve my practice.
The most valuable part of the TLI process has been really analyzing how I am as a person, a leader, and an educator.
