After graduating from Carroll College in May of 2009 with a BA in Elementary Education, I was fortunate enough to be hired in a multi-age classroom at Woodman Elementary. I was ready, but nothing could have prepared me fully for the amount of learning that I completed with my students. After a year at Woodman, I took a job at Helena Public Schools as a fourth grade teacher at Kessler Elementary in June of 2010. I wanted to return to the home of my Alma Mater and be part of the Helena community again. After a few years of teaching, I enrolled in a Masters program at WGU and successfully obtained a Masters in Learning and Technology in August of 2013. I put my degree to use by sitting on the Helena Public Schools District Technology Committee and leading technology innovation within my classroom, school and district. Knowing that I am a passionate, life-long learner, I continued to better myself as a leader, learner, and educator by beginning the National Board Certification in 2016, enrolling and completing the 2018-2019 TLI cycle, and obtaining a K-12 Principal Endorsement in July of 2019. Finally, I will continue my leadership growth by pursuing my Educational Doctorate degree at the University of Montana. I will begin coursework Fall of 2019, the focus of my studies in curriculum/instructional leadership and technology integration.
