Aviation and electronics have always interested me and in my 2nd year of High school, that's why I decided to pursue electrical or aerospace engineering. I got interested in engineering after watching videos of engineers making things, or making a new invention for fun. This made me intrigued in engineering and thinking about making aircraft or making electrical systems in automobiles or aircraft. These videos started my interest in the engineering field, then my parents suggested it as a good career to pursue. I decided to pursue this career field last school year in May.
I am currently in my Senior year of High School, pursuing a career in engineering. Currently, I have taken Algebra 1 & 2, geometry, AP Physics and Honors Pre-calc. I am currently taking AP Stats this year. Taking math classes, and taking this class, Engineering 2 at Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center will assist me in obtaining my dream of being an engineer. My prior knowledge of math will help me understand new concepts. As well, my experience with sports and school will help me learn new skills at JFCTC.
I have been playing recreational soccer for 8 years, I have done Track and Field for Chopticon, and I am currently playing Varsity Soccer. Playing sports helped me learn to work with a team, and coordinate better under pressure. Being in a team also helped me improve myself by trying to achieve a goal, encouraging others to reach their goals, and also helping me achieve mine. I volunteer at my local church and help them with their food pantry. Allowing me to build communication skills, and learn to work with other people.
My immediate plan after high school is to attend a 4-year college or university. Getting into a college will advance my knowledge in the field of engineering. Getting a degree in aerospace or electrical engineering will give me a great opportunity to enter the workforce. Even internships or other programs that can help me gain experience are in my best interest. Eventually, I'll become an engineer who is knowledgeable and capable of solving problems.
After achieving my goal, I plan on trying to create new effective electrical systems or aircraft designs. Helping out my community by creating better and safer electrical systems or helping the nation with advancements in aerospace technology. Once I attain my dream, my inventions would help many people, in and outside of my community. I hope to create a positive impact on the world with my engineering. Creating a difference in the world is one of my goals after getting my degree, making something that can help society.
