I'm a philosopher specializing in ethics, social philosophy, and practical rationality. I also have interests in epistemology and metaethics. 

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews. From August 2024, I will be an Associate Professor at the University of Virginia. 

I got my PhD from the University of Southern California in 2013, and my BA in mathematics and philosophy from West Virginia University in 2008. I grew up in Lewisburg, West Virginia, which is officially the Coolest Small Town in America.
