Assistant Professor, US Naval Academy

Welcome to my homepage. I am an Assistant Professor of Statistics in the Dept. of Mathematics at the US Naval Academy. I received my PhD in statistics from UCLA working with Prof. Rick Schoenberg. I work on methodology and applications for spatial temporal statistics and non-parametric statistics. Specifically, I develop statistical methods for point process models that describe and predict events occurring in space and time, especially clustered contagion-like events whose distribution is dynamic and stochastic. This work has recently been applied to disease outbreak forecasting and evaluating non-randomized interventions for gang crimes. I also look forward to collaborations tackling statistical challenges arising from other areas like neuroscience, network data and environmental sciences.
