8:30 AM – Meet in Tena for safety briefing and gear check
30-minute taxi ride, then 6-hour trek through primary rainforest learning medicinal plants and wildlife tracking
Set up camp, cook dinner over open fire, and experience the jungle at night
Search for suitable trees and learn traditional raft-building techniques using vines and natural cordage
Launch your handmade raft and begin navigating downriver
Fish for dinner (piranha and river fish) and camp along the riverbank
Full day paddling and drifting: spot monkeys, caimans, toucans, and herons while fishing and foraging
Navigate through varied river conditions to a remote wilderness camp
Optional night trek to observe nocturnal wildlife
Final 2 hours of river navigation to a downstream Waorani community
Dismantle raft, thank the jungle, and return to Tena by early afternoon
Sturdy hiking boots or shoes (will get wet and muddy)
Long, lightweight pants and long-sleeve shirt
