Welcome to the Jump Sprint Academy
South Dakota's newest sprinting and horizontal jumps private coaching service
The Jump Sprint Academy is a private coaching service specializing in the education and training of the sprints and horizontal jumps (long jump and triple jump) for anyone entering 7th grade or older.
The mission of the Jump Sprint Academy is to help athletes who are willing to learn and want to grow daily, regardless of ability level, reach their full potential and achieve greatness through the education of the sprints, horizontal jumps, and skills that apply on and off the track and runway.
The Jump Sprint Academy was founded on five core values: care, commitment, consistency, persistence, and humility.
core values
care
About the person, not just the athlete
Care is showing interest in the person, not just the athlete. Coaches don't coach sports. They coach people who play sports, so it's important to take the time to know each athlete as a person. Showing care for one another builds a lasting relationship and allows each person to grow as a person and athlete.
About what you do
To be your best at anything, you must care about what you do. You may not like every task that's required, but you must keep the bigger picture, your goals, in mind. If you care, you'll commit to whatever task is required.
commitment
To learning
Always be a student of the game. The more you learn, the better person and athlete you can be. As a result, you are more equipped to help others in and out of sport.
To everything you do
The higher you go, the more important details become. Thus, you must really be intentional with all you do, with all of the details, even if they seem boring and mundane. Commitment requires consistency, and consistency leads to mastery.
consistency
Again, again, again,...
Practice makes permanent. In other words, practice creates habits. The more you practice a skill correctly, the closer you get to mastering that skill. You may not always get things right, but if you consistently persist, you'll keep moving forward.
persistence
Working through challenges
Growth is uncomfortable, but uncomfortable, challenging times are required on the journey to greatness. Thus, you must continue to work on your craft despite obstacles or challenges. Progress isn't linear, so you must learn how to endure. It's about having faith and humility.
humility
An attitude of gratitude
It's important to recognize the good in every situation, especially tough ones. It helps you continue to persist, makes whatever you do more enjoyable, and is a great personal and professional skill to have.
Showing the value of others
Lift up those around you. It builds their confidence, which helps them get better and will ultimately make you better at whatever you're both pursuing. As Proverbs 27: 17 (NIV) states, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Just like care, showing humility creates meaningful connections and relationships.
