Applied Scientist | Solving real-world problems through Computer Vision, as showcased in my Google Scholar.
I am currently a Serra Húnter Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the University of Barcelona (UB) and an Associate Researcher at the Computer Vision Center (CVC). My academic and research journey has taken me through multiple institutions in Brazil and Spain, with a strong focus on computer vision, applied computing, and collaborative international research.
Prior to my current position, I served as an Adjunct Professor and Assistant Researcher at UB (2022–2023), and before that as a Postdoctoral Researcher at CVC (2021–2022), the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) (2017–2020), and UB (2016–2017). These experiences allowed me to work with diverse research groups and institutions worldwide, enriching both my research perspective and collaborative network.
Before relocating to Spain in 2016, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at PUC-RS (Brazil) (2013–2016), supported by prestigious Brazilian funding agencies including CNPq, FAPERGS, and CAPES. I also worked as a Substitute Lecturer at UFRGS (2009–2010, 2013) and as a Guest Lecturer at PUC-RS (2012–2015), gaining extensive teaching experience in computer science and related fields.
My academic path began with an MSc in Applied Computing (UNISINOS, 2006) and a PhD in Computer Science (PUC-RS, 2012), under the supervision of Dr. Soraia Musse and co-supervision of Dr. Cláudio Jung, with both projects supported by HP R&D Brazil. My doctoral research was recognized internationally with the IBM PhD Fellowship Award (2011)—a highly competitive program honoring outstanding PhD candidates worldwide.
If you're interested in my research or would like to explore potential collaborations, feel free to reach out—I'm always open to new ideas and connections.
