In this project, we created a company dedicated to creating kits to teach kids and teens STEM concepts. Our goal was to enrich the engineers of tomorrow and to teach them valuable life skills while having fun. Our kits included all the materials needed to construct unique projects with simple, easy-to-understand instructions. Due to the lack of hands-on experiences at a young age, many kids do not develop an interest in STEM or consider STEM a possible career choice. We planned to address that need by supplying unique, affordable kits for all ages of kids.
Company branding is a very important aspect of marketing. My team and I created a brand board to showcase our logo, lettering, and color scheme.
We created posters for some of our products using our color pallet. These posters also feature our slogan, "Create. Learn. Play."
As a part of our marketing plan, we created commercials to appeal to all areas of our target audience. One was more heartfelt to target the parents who would buy the kits for their kids, and the other was fun and upbeat targeting the kids themselves. I participated heavily in the production of these commercials. My roles included writing, directing, filming, and editing with my other group members.
To test our company's business plan, we held a simulation with other groups where parents could come and spend fake money. It was so interesting to see which products sold and if our price points were successful.
