Hi, I'm Julia.
I recently graduated from UCSC with a degree in Cognitive Science focused on Human-Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence. Studying the relationship between people, technology, and behavior shaped the way I approach nearly everything I do. Whether through painting, radio, community-building, or creative strategy, I'm interested in understanding how people create meaning, form connections, and engage with the systems around them.
Most recently, I've woked with Dusk Studios as a Creative Strategy Intern, helping with creator research, audience insights, campaign development, and creative strategy. It's been exciting to explore how storytelling, technology, and online culture intersect in a professional setting.
During college I became heavily involved with KZSC, UCSC's student-run radio station. I hosted a weekly show, designed promotional materials, helped run fundraising campaigns, fulfilled merch orders as Member Services Coordinator, and was one of the first members of the Tiny Couch Committee. More than anything, KZSC taught me how meaningful creative communities can be and how much I enjoy helping build them.
I also spent time working as a steward at the UCSC Farm. While it was quite different from the cognitive science courses and digital projects that occupied much of my academic life, I found the work incredibly grounding. Spending time outdoors, learning about sustainable agriculture, and contributing to a space that serves both students and the wider community gave me an appreciation for slowing down and working with my hands. The experience offered a meaningful balance to the more technology-focused side of my education.

Outside of work and school, I've always been drawn to creative projects. Painting has been a lifelong practice, and more recently I've picked up photography and graphic design. Whether I'm making artwork, taking photos, or designing posters for friends and community events, I enjoy finding new ways to communicate ideas and capture moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
