Bellow is images of the first cuts, taking a piece of walnut and a piece of maple down to 18 inch's , then took those piece and plained them down till there flat .
In this step I cut down the pieces to about 2 inches using a table saw, then stapled them the and ran it through the plainer agian.
Now its time to glue, Bellow are the images of how i lined up the strips and then all I did was glue them together. then i took that whole thing roated it and cut it again, this gave me 2 by 2 squares of each color, i took those new strips and glued them together to make a chess board pattern.
the next step would be the brim, for this we used the same type o f wood that we used for the chess board pattern, then for the final clean up I sanded it and used polyurethane to give it that shine.
