Julia Bryan, candidate for DNC

I would like to extend my full and enthusiastic endorsement of Julia. As a twice former DNC

member myself, I served one of my terms under Julia when she was Chair of Democrats

Abroad. Julia’s impact and influence on the Democratic Party was immense, and Democrats

Abroad gained more importance than I have known within our Party in the 30-some years of

my service.

Julia has a grasp of the issues that concern us overseas Americans unlike anyone. Her

excellent and subtle qualities for negotiating and her winning personality led Democrats

Abroad to a new political status within the Democratic Party which has greatly profited us

and our members. Please vote for her in the 2024 DA elections, she is a treasure we cannot

afford to lose.

I’m delighted to support Julia Bryan’s candidacy to fill Martha McDevitt-Pugh vacancy on the DA DNC delegation. I hope we all appreciate Julia’s vast skills set and uncanny ability to juggle many (many!) balls at a time. We were so lucky to have her leading Democrats Abroad during the very important election to get Donald Trump out of office!

I would like to speak about one of Julia’s skills that is not apparent from her soft-spoken demeanor, which oozes with warmth and Southern charm. Julia is one of the most fierce, tenacious and energetic networkers I’ve ever had the good fortune to watch work. This woman knows how to work a room! (Ask her about how she and Adrianne George persuaded Maxine Waters to appear in a video for DA! Amazing!!)

Julia is already incredibly well connected, but as we know, the DNC membership changes constantly. There are always new people to meet, get to know and educate about Democrats Abroad. An insatiable appetite for meaningful interpersonal engagement is essential to being an effective DNC Rep. Few people exemplify these characteristics better than Julia. Watching her at work is a marvel!

This is on top of her vast intelligence, quick wit and expansive creativity.

We have a lot of talented people in Democrats Abroad, including Julia’s fellow candidate Sue Alksnis . But Julia’s gifts - a cornucopia of technical skills, political skills, communication skills, research skills and interpersonal skills - are abundant and make her unique.

I am honored to provide this testimonial in support of Julia’s candidacy for DA Global DNC Rep and I hope you will join me in giving her your vote.

I’m proud to endorse my friend Julia Bryan to serve as our next Democratic National Committee member.

Over her four years as International Chair from 2017-2021, Julia established a proven track record for building bridges with members from across the party. During a tumultuous time both for our country and for the DNC itself, Julia demonstrated that she is a pragmatic progressive who can both passionately represent the values of Democrats Abroad’s members while also working together with party leadership to move our party in a more progressive direction and bring about meaningful change.

In such a crucial election year as 2024, we need a DNC Member who can raise Democrats Abroad’s profile and win support from the DNC to turn out the overseas vote. Julia Bryan is that candidate, and she has my strong support.
