Welcome to my website.  I am an artist specialising mainly in pet portraits and live in the City of Doncaster. 

 After enjoying many years working in the Education sector I can now concentrate on my two dogs, Rye, a red and white border collie who has boundless energy and is very loving and Storm, a black and gold German Shepherd Dog who loves getting out for a walk and is very loving.  It is thanks to these two that I decided to take up my art again and started with a portrait of Rye.  Since then I have been so busy with commissions that Storm's portrait has still to be completed.

  I absolutely love animals and have always loved drawing.  I strive to create realistic, hand-drawn portraits using high quality art materials from digital photographs that can be treasured for many years.

Creating drawings that show the pure character of the animal is the most important part for me.  Each animal is different and by capturing their personality within the drawing gives me the enormous satisfaction and pleasure.

I draw using pencils by Faber Castell Polychromos, Derwent lightfast and Caran D'Ache Luminance, all of which are lightfast and so will not fade over time.   I tend to use mainly Grafix film or Pastelmat as both these surfaces allow me to add a lot of layers to create depth.
