I am conducting a project in Burkina under the ICTD's digitax programme : Digital financial services and tax compliance for formal businesses in Burkina.
Design of the DIGITAX regional project in Burkina Faso, defining the objectives, methodology, and areas of analysis on financial digitization and tax compliance;
Field mission for the official presentation of the project to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the General Tax Directorate, the Ministry of Digital Economy, the Chamber of Commerce, the Maison de l'Entreprise, and the National Institute of Statistics and Demography;
Consultations with mobile phone operators (Orange, Moov Africa, Telecel Faso) to assess their role in the process of digitizing the tax system;
Interviews with 10 private sector actors (3 large companies, 3 medium-sized companies, and 4 small companies) to analyze their perception of the tax system and digital services;
Design, programming, and administration of the research questionnaire on SurveyCTO to ensure the quality and consistency of the data collected;
Field missions to recruit a data collection firm, train interviewers, and supervise data collection operations in Ouagadougou, Bobo-Dioulasso, and Koudougou;
Analyzed and processed quantitative and qualitative data using Stata and Excel;
Applied adoption (probit) and impact analysis (Callaway and Sant'Anna's Diff-Diff) methods, Propensity Score Matching, and Entropy Balancing to identify the determinants of electronic service adoption and measure the impact of digitization on resource mobilization;
Drafted analytical notes, technical reports, and communication documents (kick-off reports, progress reports, terms of reference, supervision reports, financial reports, etc.).
Provided technical management, institutional coordination, and project reporting to the ICTD and local partners.

Project : Assessing tax gaps and financing the Sustainable Development Goals: evidence of Ivory Coast, Guinea, Chad and Togo.
Drafted a literature review on the measurement, financing, and fiscal sustainability of the SDGs, as well as a comparative analysis of the linkages between the SDGs and domestic revenue mobilization across different countries;
Collaborated with tax administrations and national statistical offices in the collection, validation, and consolidation of fiscal and macroeconomic data;
Collected and processed data from BCEAO, the IMF, the World Bank, the OECD, and the United Nations to assess revenue mobilization potential and fiscal space;
Applied econometric methods (Stochastic Frontier Analysis – Kumbhakar et al., 2014) to estimate tax potential, revenue effort, and tax gaps in four African countries;
Analyzed policy and tax compliance gaps to identify the structural determinants of weak domestic revenue mobilization;
Conducted a sectoral study to identify levers for broadening the tax base;
Carried out a forward-looking analysis of SDG financing needs and formulated strategic recommendations;
Contributed to the optimization of public resources and fiscal sustainability through improved coordination between domestic and external financing.
