My parents started running a restaurant since I was a young age, they teach me how to cook, how to bake, they teach me to be grateful for having delicious food and share them with others; I start to cook and bake, share cuisine with friends and family when I get a bit older, I start to understand that sharing food is also sharing love and happiness.
In the CAS this year, I have learned cuisine from different regions and countries, at the same time, I also learned about culture and history through the experience.
Chifrijo is a Costa Rican dish with ingredients as tomato, avocado, rice, beans, and so on. This session was led by Los Ticxs, which were Mariela, Adriana, Numi, Adrian, and so on people. It was a delicious and comforting dish that I never tried before, and it was not be prepare, I will definitely make it after I go back to Taiwan and share with my family.
The first ceviche I tried was at a Peruvian restaurant in Costa Rica, I fell in love with the sourness and the amazing texture of the fish. This session was led by Joaquin, Jhole, who are from Peru, and Mari from Columbia. The way they prepared Ceviche was slightly different, since we were not able to buy the exact same ingredients as the Peruvian Ceviche needed, we combined the two ways of making ceviche to fit the ingredients, and it was such a success!
This session was led by Gianvito, who is from Italy, and the recipe was from Gianvito's grandmother, it has the taste of his childhood memory.
I love this dish a lot because of the bitterness from coffee went perfectly with the sweetness from the cocoa powder.
also, I enjoy cooking in my free time, and I am planning to get a license in cooking during the upcoming summer!
