Oversight and development of MEL systems and tools – Coordinate the development and implementation of the Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (AMELP) and corresponding M&E systems. Lead and supervise the development and updating of M&E tools and the collection and analysis of process data to monitor project activities. Develop standard operating procedures (manuals, trainings) for data collection, data entry, data analysis, and management of devices related to data collection or use. Ensure ethical procedures and adherence to the AMELP plan and Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol and liaise with the local ethics review board. Develop a coordinated approach to data collection by project partners, collation and sharing of results with stakeholders. Data collection and quality assurance – Supervise implementation of data collection activities (including all mobile data collection and GIS data). Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for data collection to ensure data accuracy and the validity and reliability of monitoring data and study results. Conduct site visits to ensure quality, reliability, and consistency of data and seamless flow from the field to central office. Data storage – Create, maintain and safeguard electronic databases and any other data collection files in compliance with JHU data security requirements. Manage access permissions for data entry and dashboards to view monitoring output. Data analysis and reporting – Track, analyze and produce comprehensive and succinct reports and documentation on indicators and measures. Conduct data cleaning and analysis on a monthly basis and produce graphs and reports for quarterly reporting. Capacity strengthening and training – Co-facilitate training workshops, including agenda, curriculum, manuals and materials necessary to appropriately train individuals involved in monitoring activities and data use. Train and mentor local NGOs subcontracted by the project on M&E for quality reporting. Provide support to and build the capacity of partner organizations and existing traditional structures to design, implement, and evaluate community engagement activities. Coordination and communication – Coordinate with partners and stakeholders within the multi-sectoral government entities. Work with the program team to ensure proper documentation via knowledge management approaches. Participate in the development and writing of strategies, work plans and assessments.

Prepare and deliver lectures for students. Guide class discussions and tutorial sessions, while encouraging debate and feedback amongst students. Check and assess students' work through preparing and marking assignments, essays, exams and providing one-on-one feedback on academic performance. Supervise the work of PhD students, Master’s students, undergraduate students and research staff. Attend and speak at conferences and seminars to share knowledge and learnings. Write research proposals, scientific papers and other publications.
2013 – Present: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager, Communication for Healthy Communities program, FHI 360, Kampala, Uganda
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) – Coordinated program M&E activities to ensure a results-based M&E system is built on an integrated program theory of change. Led the development, implementation and periodic review of the Program Accountability, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (AMELP) with clearly designed targets and indicators of progress. Set up M&E databases, data management systems and provided graphical summaries and visualizations of progress towards project indicator targets. Coordinated data quality assessments (DQA) and built capacity of program staff and partners to use and respond to findings. Provided technical support and supervision to the Finance and Budget unit in managing sub-grants and tracking allocations and expenditure to ensure value for money. Spearheaded the development of actionable and result-oriented multi-year and annual operational workplans. Research – Led the design and implementation of customized research methodologies including qualitative and quantitative studies, case studies, rapid assessments, Knowledge Attitude and Practice studies. Conducted process evaluations and participatory formative assessments with target audiences. Provided technical input in the development and dissemination of program knowledge management products such as abstracts, reports, success stories, technical briefs, scientific manuscripts, documentaries and videos. Capacity strengthening – Organized and facilitate trainings for staff and partners. Provide technical input in the development of training manuals and concepts by developing training content on Social and Behavior Change Communication, M&E, learning, research, gender, and sexual and reproductive health, and data use for decision making. Networking and Collaboration – Supported the Ministry of Health to convene collaborative review and strategic planning meetings through, coordinating and co-chairing the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Knowledge Management (MER/KM) taskforce meetings. Participated in international and national inter-agency meetings, workshops and conferences including technical working groups to contribute to discourses on development work for sustainable integration. Adolescent development – Provided technical assistance to partners on approaches to enhance risk communication, community engagement and adolescents participation into policy and programming. Participated and represented FHI 360 in adolescent-focused stakeholder forums such as Adolescent Health Technical Working Group to discuss and plan for adolescent development. Gender integration – Led and coordinated the gender mainstreaming interventions of the project, provided technical assistance to staff and other partners on gender and development to enhance their ability to lead and deliver quality programmatic results on gender equality and integration, contributed to development and adaptation of gender training materials and hands-on capacity building efforts.

Wrote research proposals and conducted research using quantitative and qualitative methods. Led research projects including planning, field data collection, data analysis and report writing. Developed a Project Monitoring and Evaluation plan/framework to guide M&E activity implementation. Managed the project M&E budget by developing M&E implementation work plans and budgets. Ensured the implementation of a comprehensive project Monitoring and Evaluation System to include baseline and end-line surveys, health facility quality of care surveys, training/capacity building and stakeholder/partner consultations. Developed a project database and a system for documenting project impact, best practices and lessons learned. Coordinated, organized and supervised quantitative and qualitative data collection activities used to monitor and evaluate project interventions, outcomes and impact. Developed survey, research and routine data collection tools and study protocols, and trained staff on use. Ensured the effective documentation of project impacts, best practices and shared learning through dissemination of results and findings in workshops and meetings. Ensured effective and collaborative relationship with all project partners and that complementary approaches are established with other projects with similar technical approaches. Comprehensively oriented staff on all operations of the different departments in the organization and linking them to related departments for guidance.
