Back after the summer holidays, we have made an order for components to upgrade our old greenpower car, including new batteries, motor controller and motor.

This is part of our plan to upgrade and improve the old car.  In addition, we will be replacing components to reduce weight and size; to create a narrower profile and lighter vehicle.

At the same time, we will be experimenting with fibreglass for use in joints in the chassis of our new car.  These will save us weight and will be stronger when joined together. Hopefully, the materials we have ordered for this purpose will arrive in time for our next session, in one week's time

Current Plan:

• Upgrade components in old car

• Replace components in old car with lighter, smaller alternatives

• Build chassis of new car using plywood and fibreglass joints

• Finish CAD model of the new car
