The Joint Undertaking for an African Materials Institute (JUAMI) was established in 2012 to build international collaborations in materials research and education. The Open Computing Facility (OCF) was started in 2019 to further the mission of JUAMI through the establishment of an open access cloud-based server that provides access to high computing power and state-of-the-art sustainability assessment and materials research software. Applications to the server are open and free to any student (undergraduate/Master’s/PhD) at an accredited African institute. More information about the software and resources available, as well as information on how to apply, can be found on Apply Now tab. More info about the OCF, including our funding partners, can be found on the About the OCF tab.
