My preference for website and similar types of UI/UX design is usually to try to structure the experience to have as few clicks as possible to achieve its goal. Since the syllabus is clearly chronological and defined by weekly goals, that seemed the best way to organize the site and support a 1:1 correspondence with the structure of the course. The intention is to make it easy for the user to find the right link to click on to see the work for that week.
