Outline: Japanese government positions tourism as the pillar of a growth strategy, and a
trump of regional revitalization, and is promoting Tourism Nation Promotion Basic
Law with three keywords of “sustainable tourism,” “consumption expansion” and
“local- tourism promotion.” As one of the measures, formation of the attractive high
tourist resort region of global competitiveness is presented. It is an important subject
how we can respond to the inbound demand from overseas when we are escaping
from the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.
Therefore, in a keynote lecture, the tourism measure and a tourist's trend of a
Japanese government, the Tokai bloc, and Aichi Prefecture are surveyed. In a panel
discussion, the practical examples and directions of community development by
music in Obu City are presented by city government, musician, musical instrument
manufacturing industry, and the coordinator for community development. Based on
the presentation, whether the community development by music can serve as a
resource for tourism are discussed. From its argument, how such community
development can be applied to the tourism measure in Aichi and Tokai bloc will be
shown.
