Here are some things that will help your piano student thrive:
A real piano that is regularly tuned, or a digital piano (or keyboard on a sturdy stand) that has weighted keys. Weighted keys build finger strength and allow for greater control of the instrument.
A quiet, interruption-free place to practice.
Enough easy music books to keep them busy. What counts as “easy” will change as they get better at reading music.
Listening to great pianists, watching performances on YouTube, and going to an occasional concert such as the Colorado Symphony. Here's a YouTube playlist to get you started! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcFqkljqNdvKfG7hh0QM_9iJHr7gVzBPy
Gentle encouragement to practice for at least 10 minutes each day. 10 minutes is long enough to get into a groove that could result in a much longer session.
Happy piano playing!
