Guru Smt. Manjula Ramachandran is a vocalist, veena player and recording Artist.
She graduated in Carnatic Music with a Gold medal from Sri Swathi Thirunal Music Academy in addition to her Masters in Accounting. She was blessed with exemplary Gurus like Dr. Jaya Mahadevan, Smt. Gomati Chidambaram, Prof. Seetha Ammal, and Prof.G. Seethalakshmi who imparted her with traditional carnatic music. At a young age, Manjula was awarded the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy award, the National Level All India Radio Music Competition Award, and a Music scholarship for 12 years from the Government of India.
She is a graded artist of All India Radio (AIR) and has performed for numerious TV channels in India and USA. She has widely given solo veena and vocal concerts in all major venues, including Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana and worked with eminent and versatile dance artists and musicians.
She is also a highly sought after singer for Bharathanatyam dance arangetrams and has sung for decades. She has been the Director of Mangala Isai Arts Center for over 25 years and has nurtured many young talent. Working at North Brunswick Public Schools has allowed Manjula to introduce Indian music and compose orchestral pieces for public school ensemble. Recently CJMEA honored Guru Manjula by featuring her composition at their string festival.
