A. Guidelines for writing and formatting
Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English to be intelligible to the professional reader who is not a specialist in any particular field. The Journal of Remote Sensing and Environment offers a free-format submission for a simplified and streamlined submission process. However, the manuscript should contain the following sections sequentially.
o Abstract
o Introduction
o Materials and methods/Experimental set-up
o Results and discussion
o Conclusions
o Acknowledgements (if any) and
o References
File format: We request you to provide an editable Word file for the entire submission (using the extension .doc/.docx). Font size of the writing should be 12 in Times New Roman with double spacing.
Title page: Article titles should be concise, with a complete reflection of the study. Please avoid abbreviations and formulae. Provide the full name of each author with accurate spelling. Add present affiliation addresses and the email address of each author. Clearly indicate who will correspond during the whole publication process.
Abstract: We ask you to provide a factual and brief abstract which should not exceed 300 words. The abstract should briefly state the purpose of your research, main results, and major conclusions. Avoid references if they are not essential.
Keywords: You are required to provide 3 to 5 keywords. Please try to avoid keywords consisting of multiple words.
Tables: Insert the tables in the body of the article. Tables must be submitted as editable text, not as images. Number the tables consecutively according to their appearance in the text. Please provide captions explicitly along with the tables. Place table notes below the body of the table (if necessary). Cite all tables in the manuscript text. Please, provide the tables which are necessary to show. We recommend that you use tables sparingly, ensuring that any data presented in tables is not duplicating results described elsewhere in the article.
Figures, images, and artwork: Insert the Figures/images/diagrams in the body of the article. Do not paste the Figures/images/diagrams within a Table. Number the Figures consecutively according to their appearance in the text. Please provide captions explicitly below of each Figure. Cite all Figures in the manuscript text.
Acknowledgements: Contributions from anyone who does not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an Acknowledgments section, with permission from the contributor. You can also mention the financial and material support information in this section. Acknowledgements should be placed in a separate section, which appears directly before the reference list.
Reference and citation format: Any references cited within your article should also be present in your reference list and vice versa. Do not include unpublished results in the reference list. Author names, journal or book titles, chapter or article titles, year of publication, volume numbers, article numbers, or pagination must be included, where applicable. Use of DOIs is recommended. This journal prefers the Harvard reference style, i.e., the author, date system. In the text, give the author’s name followed by the year in parentheses: Smith (2000). You should cite the statement (Smith, 2000) or (Smith and Robin, 2005) or (Smith et al., 2015) if the author number is one or two, or more than two, respectively. If several papers by the same authors and from the same year are cited, a, b, c, etc. should be inserted after the year of publication. In the reference list, references should be listed in alphabetical order. Some examples are given below:
