An on-line resource for strategies to help English Language Learners (ELLs)
The purpose of this website is to provide teachers with a collection of resources for teaching English Language Learner students.
This is specifically planning instruction targeted on content ELL students can’t yet access independently and by providing appropriately designed and timed scaffolds so they can get there on their own.
This resource offers leveled and standards-aligned informational content that is available in English and Spanish. This allows your students to learn the same content but in on their own level.
Vocabulary is a key component of student success in reading and content comprehension. Writing and drawing the vocabulary words is a great way for them to picture the word and determine its meaning.
A method of assessment where a teacher focuses more on observing students' performances often rather than a periodical grading system. This is beneficial for ELL students because the teacher is able to see their progress and provide support more often throughout the year.
Hello! I am Jennifer Rogers, I am currently in my internship at George Junior High School in Springdale, Arkansas. I will graduate from the University of Arkansas in May 2022.
Throughout my experience in my internship, I have developed a passion for teaching English Language Learners. I believe students deserve an equitable learning environment in every way possible. If we are not adapting and differentiating for our students how can we expect them to be successful?
As teachers, I believe it is our job to provide instruction and resources to create a safe, secure, and successful learning environment for ALL students.
