As of January 2018, acts as Chair of the Rio Grande do Sul Chapter. Other members are Raphael Brum (Vice-Chair), Paulo Butzen (Finance Chair), Claudio Diniz (Activities Chair), Fabio Ramos (Activities Chair), and Ricardo Reis (past-Chair).
As of August 2021, José Rodrigo acts as the President of Porto Alegre's Committee for Science and Technology. The IEEE CASS-RS has been elected one of the 13 members of Porto Alegre's Committee for Science and Technology in 2019.
