Joyonta Das Joy (জয়ন্ত দাশ জয়)
Graduate Student | Researcher
Welcome to my portfolio.
I am Joyonta Das Joy, a graduate student from Bangladesh currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Renewable Energy at the University of Agder (UiA), Norway, as a NORSTIP Fellow. I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Bangladesh, in July 2025, graduating with the Dean's Award for academic excellence.
My work focuses on energy materials, electrochemical energy storage, semiconductor devices, integrated photonics, multiphysics simulation, and AI/ML-driven materials research. During my undergraduate studies, I worked on the modeling, design, and optimization of photonic and nanoscale devices, with a particular focus on plasmonic materials and optical biosensors. I also contributed to research on mid-infrared supercontinuum generation and nonlinear optical waveguides.
In the summer of 2026, I joined nanoCaps AS as an R&D Trainee, where I worked on the fabrication and characterization of carbon nanotube (CNT)-based supercapacitors. This experience provided hands-on exposure to nanomaterial synthesis, cleanroom processing, device assembly, and electrochemical performance evaluation.
Beyond academics, I have actively contributed to professional and student organizations, including serving as Vice Chair of the IEEE CUET Student Branch. These experiences strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills while allowing me to work with diverse groups to promote technical learning and professional development.
Outside academia, I enjoy traveling, exploring different cultures, and keeping up with emerging technologies and scientific developments.
