Valerie Rosenberger has been a Physical Therapist Assistant for over 18 years and a certified lymphedema therapist specializing in cancer rehab for the past 11 of those years. She felt called to put pen to paper some of the stories she has found herself resharing with her patients over the years. These stories are situations that she finds her patients coming up against time and again. This has allowed her to fine tune a particular patients experience for all. She has shared them with a side of humor, compassion, and you may even find yourself shedding a tear or two as well, as she helps you to work through all the feels of your journey.
She is happily married to her husband of over 20 years and they have 3 awesome kids. They make their home in North Carolina and love to travel to the beach with their family as often as possible.
The Finding Joy in Your Journey Experience
You'll find a few opportunities to help you find joy inyour journey on this website:
One is Valerie's book. This is written to be an interactive experience to help you work through some of the emotions of this journey. Emotions that you may either be aware of and you need help navigating this new and unknown territory you have unintentionally found yourself in. Or, it may be emotions that you aren't aware of or don't know what name to put to them. Valerie's experiences after years of working in cancer rehab and the book that came of that, is tailored to this exact journey you are now traversing.
Another opportunity is to visit the self MLD page to learn how to better care for and support your lymphatic system after having lymph nodes removed.
A third opportunity, once available, will be to sign up for Valerie's cancer rehab course. This will include lymphedema education, safe exercises to aid in the varying stages of your recovery, education about compression garments and live call(s) with Valerie to have your questions answered and for encouragement in your journey.
