What is Journey to South Africa?
Students and faculty in the West Chester University Honors College have been traveling to South Africa since 2001 on service-learning programs, where we work with local nonprofit organizations, meet with important anti-apartheid activists, and learn about the diverse and beautiful country of South Africa. We have created a book reflecting on this experience (coming soon), and social media sites that provide insight into our experiences and what we have learned over the years. The book and social media sites contain reflections from a variety of perspectives--students travel journals, interviews with community leaders and activists and faculty. We also include a wide variety of beautiful photographs that demonstrate the cultural diversity and natural beauty of South Africa.
