About: I conceived, reported and published this story all within one day after news broke about a tornado in our community. Using social media reporting and open-source tools for a timeline, I told the story of the community's first 24 hours after the disaster.

About: I was part of the team that broke this story, in part from a tip from one of my sources. The story won first place in the State Important Press Awards and more importantly, led to the city examining its hiring policies.

About: Using data from public property tax records for the past decade, I created a spreadsheet to find and report stories. I worked with a developer to then showcase some of the data to help tell parts of my story when writing/producing for the news site. This investigative project was done in addition to my daily news duties over the course of three months. The average time spent on the story was 6+ minutes, showing that the community read and stayed on the story.
